駭客破解密碼的技術大躍進，美國科技公司最新評估，駭客只要花費37秒就能破解一組8字元的數字密碼，但破解16字元則要花費百年，專家呼籲民眾可以使用長一點的密碼，就算只使用數字也比短密碼更難破解。
綜合外媒報導，資訊科技公司Hive Systems研究指出，目前許多網站要求用戶設定8字元的密碼，但隨著駭客技術進步，這項門檻需要提升，更長的密碼才會出現更多可能組合，讓駭客花費更多的時間，確實提升安全性。
該機構提到，目前駭客只需要37秒就能突破一組只含數字的8字元密碼，若只含數字的16字元密碼，則需要119年才有機會破解，然而一組包含字母、數字或符號的8字元要花7年，換言之，簡單卻很長的密碼比短且複雜的組合更安全。
此外，該機構也強調，隨著運算能力的進步，密碼的強度需要不斷提升，設定一組強大且獨特的密碼，比時常變更密碼還要重要，因為時常變更密碼容易霧設強度較弱的密碼，重複採用相似密碼的機率也會變高。
不僅如此，如果一組密碼曾經遭竊，或曾在不同網站上使用過，甚至是使用字典裡的用字，這些舉動也會縮短駭客破解密碼的時間，提醒民眾留意。
