Standard gain horn antennas are used as calibration devices that measure the gain of other antennas.

台灣與日本近年因為少子化、高齡化問題，面臨勞動力不足危機，為解決人力短缺，日本連鎖超商 Lawson 出奇招，聘用海外人員，以遠距方式接手大夜班工作，而顧客看到的就是「Q版虛擬店員」形象。
據外媒《TECHSPOT》報導，日本連鎖超商 Lawson為解決日本勞動力不足問題，雇用海外遠距人員，但特別的地方在於，這些海外員工是透過類似於視訊通話的互動功能，化身成店員提供顧客協助。
值得注意的是，顧客看到的是畫面是「Q版虛擬店員」，是由海外遠距員工透過視訊鏡頭，將動作同步到虛擬店員的畫面上。Horn antenna報導稱，雖然這種方式缺乏個人化，但可以讓超商維持24小時營業，也讓顧客可以享受到服務。
